Dedicated to the memory of Julie Hugo

This site is a tribute to Julie Hugo, 8th Nov. 1949 - 21st Feb. 2020

Mum was a heartwarming and friendly character, who touched the lives of many in Tiverton. From working as a matron at School House in Blundell's to causing traffic jams at the tills in Morrisons with her chatter, she was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

If you would like to, please contribute any memories you have of mum, no matter how big or small. These small moments help us to keep her memory alive in us. I also invite you to add any photos or donate to any of the chosen charities.

I hope you can join us for the funeral.

Lots of love

Hannah

Thoughts

Hi Han, I have uploaded a picture from the first time I properly met your mum. It was on the stop back from that 'Gishin Surfin' trip in the summer of our first year of University. Robyn was really good at it and you and I were more interested in lying on the beach and having a bottle of Rattler. On the way back, we detoured and went along the coast from Newquay and stopped off at a number of yours and your mum's favourite beach stops. We had such great time and to top it all off, when we arrived back at your house, your mum bundled us in that old car she had, the one that I think didn't have any brakes, and took us to the pub where we all got thoroughly trolleyed. That being the first of many of my encounters with the formidable Julie Hugo, is one of my favourite. I particularly remember her scolding me when I asked you, what's the plan Stan! Your mums a source to be reckoned with, a fountain of knowledge and the salts of the earth, all characteristics that she has left with you. What a great woman, what a great life. Let's see if we can live up to it. Love you always Kitt Love you Kitt xxx

Dear Hannah, I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. I only met your mum once and it was clear she was a fabulous character (and devoted to you). Thinking of you xx

I met Julie in the summer of 2016 when I began adventuring with her two wonderful dogs whom she loved dearly. I saw her twice a week for the best part of 3 years. She put a smile on my face everytime I met her and was always so easy to talk with. Julie was truly one of the strongest and quirkiest women I have ever known and would never fail to make me laugh. Even if it was sometimes through her sheer stubbornness! She would always offer me a biscuit or chocolate or anything she had going. I enjoyed those evenings with Julie and will remember her always xx thinking of you Hannah and sending love xx
